Why would I want to sell my companies business logic?

If in the future another company could make use of your functionality, then your company could license your software, allowing you to recapture some of your initial investment, PLUS if the other company requires additional features (and pays for their development), those features will become available to your company - free of charge. A number of dcbl solutions clients have their own in house IT Staff that are helping both themselves and our network of customers. With more people using your application, more testing is accomplished, and more features will be added as they are required, making your companies modules more valuable, more robust and more tested they they would otherwise be, and for less money then traditional software customer software developer.

Code Reusability

If your company needs it done, someone else has probably done it, or at least something similar. Five years ago I wrote message board code that has since been recycled to calculate commissions payouts. Two applications that initially seem very different, but are almost exactly the same. You never know when someone else's past problem is going to reduce the development time for something you require by massive margins.
